Meet Chuck VanBuren on Clarinet and Saxophone!

Chuck is a native of Lockport, NY, and holds degrees in music education from the University of Wisconsin and the Eastman School of Music.

In June of 2004 he retired from public school education after thirty-three years of teaching concert bands and jazz ensembles. He continues to serve as an adjunct professor at the Finger Lakes Community College, in Canandaigua, NY where he directs the Finger Lakes Concert Band.

Chuck is an adjudicator for the New York State School Music Association and Classic Festivals. He also directs the highly regarded Perinton Concert Band; an adult community band that has performed throughout the northeastern United States and Canada.

In addition to the Krazy Firemen Chuck performs in various jazz and commercial settings in and around Rochester and performs, on occasion, as a saxophonist with the Rochester Philharmonic, and plays clarinet in the Hochstein Music Educatorís Wind Band. He has also performed with numerous entertainers including Ray Charles, Bob Hope, Kenny Rogers, Ben Vareen, Melissa Manchester and Toni Tenille.

Chuck and his wife Sue have one daughter and live in Victor, NY.
